Dina Temple- Raston is an essential part of NPR's national security team reporting on counter terrorism at home and abroad. Before joining the NPR team in March of 2007, she took a two year sabbatical where she completed two books, learned Arabic, and received her Master's Degree.

In addition to her work as a reporter she is also an award-winning author having written her first book, titled "A Death in Texas," about race in America, which was chosen as one of the Washington Post's Best Books of 2002.
