KAZU's David Wittrock Retired

Krista Almanzan

After 20 years in broadcasting, KAZU Morning Edition host David Wittrock will retire on Tuesday, June 30th.

For the past seven years, KAZU listeners have been waking up to David's voice on Morning Edition, NPR's flagship show heard Monday through Friday 4:00am to 9:00am on 90.3 KAZU.

David first got his start in radio when he was 16-years-old.  He was hanging around WAOV in Knox County, Indiana when the night shift host didn't show up, so he filled in and stayed on the job through high school.

The Monterey Bay Area first became familiar with David when he was on the air at the former classical music station, KBOQ, where he hosted a morning show called Baroque and Eggs.
