Salinas, CA – The fierce battle over future Monterey County land use took a major twist Tuesday night. The Board of Supervisors voted 3-to-2 to not place the proposed General Plan initiative on the June ballot. Initiative supporters had gathered about 15-thousand signatures through the referendum process, and supervisors appeared to only have two choices - adopt the initiative as law, or let the entire county vote. Instead, they did neither. KAZU's Ben Adler reports.
