Pacific Grove, CA – It was a huge night for Democrats Tuesday night. They won control of the House of Representatives and might yet bring in the Senate as well. It was the type of political wave not seen since 1994 - when voters unhappy with Bill Clinton and a Democratic Congress sent Republicans and their Contract with America to Washington. President Clinton's chief of staff during that election was Leon Panetta, the former Monterey Bay Area congressman from Carmel Valley, and he spoke with KAZU's Ben Adler Wednesday morning before news of Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld's resignation came out.
