Santa Cruz, CA – It's National Tsunami Awareness week. It's a week that may have gone by unnoticed if not for the tsunami that struck ten days ago. Crews have spent the past week cleaning up and assessing tsunami damage at the Santa Cruz Harbor. The toll now stands at more than $20-million.

It's a reminder that the California Coast is vulnerable to tsunamis. But the question is how vulnerable? Did the March 11th tsunami show us the worst that could happen on the Central Coast? KAZU's Krista Almanzan spoke with UC Santa Cruz tsunami researcher and geophysicist Steven Ward. Ward will be speaking at a Tsunami Awareness Community Meeting tonight in Santa Cruz. That's at 7:00pm at the Santa Cruz Police Department.
