The Carmel Public Library Foundation and KAZU welcomed Ambassador Christopher Hill to the Sunset Center in Carmel on Wednesday, April 8th in a benefit event for the Library Foundation.  KAZU's Krista Almanzan moderated the Q&A portion of the event.

Christopher Hill is a four time Ambassador whose last post was in Iraq.  He is the bestselling author of the recently published book Outpost: Life on the Frontlines of American Diplomacy.  

Hill is currently Dean of the Josef Korbel School of International Studies at the University of Denver.

Race Relations with Ben Jealous, former president and CEO of the NAACP; Ray Kelly, former commissioner of the New York City Police Department; and Ken Salazar, former attorney general for Colorado and U.S. Secretary of the Interior.  Secretary Leon Panetta serves as the moderator of this discussion.  This event took place on Monday, April 20th.

The first event in the 2015 Leon Panetta Lecture Series focuses on the topic of energy and features Carol Browner, former director of the White House Office of Energy and Climate Change Policy; Steven Chu, former Secretary of Energy; Joe Manchin, U.S. Senator (WV); and T. Boone Pickens, chairman of BP Capital Management.  Secretary Leon E. Panetta serves as moderator.  This event took place on Monday, March 23rd in Monterey.

Paul Saffo is a forecaster with over two decades of experience in helping corporate and government clients understand and respond to the dynamics of large-scale and long-term change. He teaches at Stanford University, where he is a consulting associate professor in the School of Engineering, and chairs the Future Studies track at Singularity University.

On November 4th, he spoke at California State University Monterey Bay's World Theater about "Innovators, Upstarts and Mythmakers: The Deep Origins of Silicon Valley"
