Chef Carries On Campus Tradition

Hartnell College Food Service Manager Mike Cunnane makes duchess potatoes for a meal inspired by French cuisine.

Salinas – Tuesdays are almost always long days for Mike Cunnane. In addition to managing food services on the Hartnell College campus in Salinas, he finishes off many Tuesdays by preparing a meal for 100-plus community members.

The tradition started 25 years ago when Hartnell hired this former restaurateur to launch a new culinary program. The program quickly ended after failing to draw in enough students, but its legacy lives on today in the form of weekly international dinners.

Show Immerses Students In The Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary

Monterey – All week long the Research Vessel Fulmar has set out in the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary with a crew of photographers, audio engineers and scientists. The crew is part of a show called Immersion Presents Monterey Bay, a 30-minute internet program that is streaming live into schools and Boys & Girls Clubs across the nation.
