Moss Landing, CA – Okay, so the Jaws theme and KAZU's story on the Monterey Bay Aquarium's great white shark got KAZU's John Sepulvado thinking. There's one scene in that movie, where the skipper and the scientist are talking about the shark that's killing people. And the skipper says he'll help with the hunt, but, he adds, they're going to need a bigger boat.
Salinas, CA – Less than a month after a nationwide E. coli outbreak in spinach was traced back to California's Salinas Valley, a local produce company has recalled some of its lettuce products. The Salinas-based Nunes Company is voluntarily recalling its Foxy-brand green leaf lettuce sold from October 3rd through October 6th in California and six other states. Seaside, CA – Fourteen golden shovels tossed aside some loose rubble Thursday afternoon as California State University Monterey Bay broke ground on its new library. The three-floor, 64 million dollar building will be named for the Tanimura and Antle families, who are providing major funding. It was designed by the same architects that designed the Monterey Bay Aquarium and the library at nearby Monterey Peninsula College.
